Time to REBOOT*

*To turn (a computer or operating system) off and then on again; restart.

Sometimes our “operating system” needs to reboot. There are some days where we should just stop all the stuff we “should” or “want” to do, and just quiet all down.

It’s not easy. We always have so many “operations” ongoing that the amount of “processes” in on our “task manager” list  is long. So in fact, it does take some time till the system is really shut down. Vices, habits, the frenetic need of doing things, of sharing things, of saying is overwhelming. How many times have you indeed stopped to do nothing, absolutely nothing except to be with yourself?

Also, it’s not easy to listen to all we think. Somethings we like to smother with external activities. The “whys” and the “funny feelings” very rarely get our full attention. We feel them, some of them even bother us, make the day somewhat darker, but how many of us have the guts to quiet all down and listen, in raw, all that is underlining our latest choices and motivations?

We need to reboot otherwise we get lost and confused about what we are doing here. That big question: “What’s my Life’s Purpose”, shouldn’t be neglected. It’s not an easy question to answer, but to know it, it might be simpler than we think.

What we need is Awareness.
Oh, that constantly mentioned New Age word, the key word of any Hippie and Zen Master’s lingo.
Well, but it’s exactly what we need... To have knowledge or consciousness of something.

And how can we gain Awareness?
By slowing down.

When we slow down, we actually see more. We get more attentive to what’s around us. We make miss turns because we’re going to fast to see the signs that are telling us where to go. We’re breathing too impatiently to feel the right moment. We’re running from one task to the other, but we’re leaving it incomplete, with errors. We’re changing ourselves so fast that we’re forgetting where we came from. Slow down and enjoy the view, the smells, the sounds, the words.

Observe what’s going on outside, but first start with the inside.

How are you? Are you happy? Are you in Love?
